There are some questions in life you don’t think twice about asking. What’s the weather today? What’s for dinner tonight? Is this seat taken? But there are some questions - usually ones with greater significance -that many of us are terrified of asking. We think them in our heads, but rarely speak them out loud. Why do bad things happen to good people? How can people say they believe the same thing but politically disagree on everything? Does a book written thousands of years ago really matter today? The harsh reality is that many of us rarely (if ever) bring these questions to God, expecting that He might have something to say.
God’s Word is not afraid to offer insight and speak clearly to some of the questions we might be afraid to ask. The question we’ll be left with is simple: will we listen?
